What is the air pump?

The air pump in a Deep Water Culture (DWC) system serves a crucial role in maintaining the oxygen levels in the nutrient solution. In a DWC system, plant roots are suspended in a nutrient-rich water solution, which provides them with the necessary nutrients and water for growth. However, the roots also require oxygen to support their metabolic processes.

An air pump in hey abby grow box is connected to an air stone, which is placed at the bottom of the reservoir containing the nutrient solution. When the air pump is turned on, it forces air through the tubing and into the air stones, which then release the air in the form of tiny bubbles. As these bubbles rise to the surface, they create a continuous flow of dissolved oxygen in the nutrient solution.

The air pump has a lifespan of approximately 10,000 hours and is not easily subject to breakage. If you believe there is an issue with the air pump, please first consult our support team.

No Bubbles

  • First, make sure your abby isn't in the germination period. The air pump doesn't work if your abby is in the germination period.

  • If you have started planting in APP , and your abby isn't in the germination period, remove the air stone, and check whether the bubbles are normal. If it's normal, it should be the air stone isn't working. You should replace it with a new one.

  • If remove the air stone, the bubbles are still abnormal, cut off the power, check whether the hose and the terminal are loose, unplug them and plug them in again, then power on, check to see whether the bubbles are OK.

Remove the 8 screws

Unplug them and plug them in again

Very Few Bubbles

  • Remove the air stone , check whether the bubbles are normal . If it's normal , it should be the air stone isn't working . You should replace it with a new one .

  • If you remove the air stone, the bubbles are still abnormal, cut off the power , check whether the hose and the terminal are loose, unplug them and plug them in again , then power on , check to see whether the bubbles are OK .
