1. Locate the locking mechanism: located inside the box, on the left hand side (where the door opens);

2. Remove the 3 screws holding the locking mechanism in place;

3. Using your screwdriver, insert it into the open mouth of the locking mechanism, and push it inward- towards the back wall of the box. The locking mechanism will slide out;

4. You'll need to gently but firmly pull the locking mechanism out, so that the wires and terminal connectors are exposed. Pinch and unplug the terminal connections;

If the wires are stuck, a helpful tip is to wiggle the two wires inside the lock back and forth. This movement can help loosen them and make it easier to pull them out smoothly.

5. You can now plug in the new lock’s terminal connectors, put it in place, and secure it with the 3 screws!
