Here are some tips and tricks for successful germination of cannabis seeds:

  1. Soak the seed in a cup of water and place it in the refrigerator overnight.

  2. Drain the water out and refill it with warm water (around 113°F). Keep the seed soaked until a taproot emerges (no light is required). This process usually takes 2 to 4 days.

  3. Gently place the taproot into a wet grow sponge, ensuring the seed is visible from the outside. Put the sponge at the bottom of the plant basket.

  4. Add tap water (about 1 inch) to the plant cup and place the plant basket into the cup. Make sure the water level does not exceed the height of the sponge.

Place the plant cup into abby, and set the abby in seed mode.

Notes: If the seed does not germinate, it may have lost its viability, which is a common occurrence. In this case, try starting with another seed or consider using a clone if possible.
