The curing process, which usually takes about a week, helps buds develop a deeper taste and offers users a smoother smoke.

Once buds are dry, they are ready to be cured in an airtight glass jar, stopping the loss of moisture and preserving their flavor and aroma.

Humidity within the curing jar should be maintained between 55-65% rh. If the humidity goes over 65%, you will need to “burp” the jar by opening it, releasing air and then re-sealing it. Doing so will help prevent mold.

When placing buds into their containers, be sure to pack loosely and avoid crushing them. Seal the jars and store them in a cool, dry, dark place.

Even after curing, it is best to keep buds in a cool, dark place to avoid mold and mildew, which thrive in temperatures between 77-86°F. When stored properly, buds can go for two years without much loss of potency.
